TIMEA ANITA ORAVECZ | NOSS NOSS نص نص

02.09.2018 > 28.10.2018 | LA FRICHE LA BELLE DE MAI, Marseille

Stories, Traces, Passages: Badr El Hammami, Timea Anita Oravecz, Mohammed Laouli & Katrin Ströbel, Filipe Lippe

Marseille, Hamburg and Tangier are three transit areas, all three with a long history of migration. Thousands of travel, transit or migration experiences have their beginning or end. Facing the sea, these cities are interfaces between worlds.

The current exhibition invites contemporary artists who follow these questions by working in Tangier, Marseille and Hamburg to enter into dialogue on this current theme. The artists presented here poetically and politically explore experiences of migration and borders. How the migration experience fits into objects, documents or stories – historical, public or personal – is one of the central issues in the exhibition.

A first version of the exhibition stories, traces, passages, curated by Katrin Ströbel, was also presented in 2017 in Tangier. The exhibition in Marseille is the result of this latest project. Beside Badr El Hammami and Timea Anita Oravecz – the two artists invited to Tangier – two other positions will be presented at Friche: that of Mohammed Laouli and Katrin Ströbel (Marseille) and Filipe Lippe (Hamburg).

This exhibition is part of the Focus Hamburg project of the Goethe-Institut de Marseille, proposed on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the twinning between Marseille and Hamburg.

Opening on September 1st, h 6 pm – 10 pm
