MontesantoArte: four artist residences at the Intelligent District, a project promoted by the Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Naples, as part of the Sillumina call (2016 edition) organized by SIAE, in collaboration with Quartiere Intelligente.

Six months of artistic residency at the Q.I. (Intelligent District) for four young Italian artists: Mariangela Bruno, Francesca Borrelli, Elena Mazzi, Valentina Miorandi. this is the MontesantoArte project, which will be organized from September 2017 to March 2018, and which is the first artist residency program promoted by the Donnaregina Foundation for the contemporary arts through the Sillumina call (2016 edition) organized by SIAE, in collaboration with the Intelligent District, a multi-project urban regeneration platform founded in 2013 in the historic center of Naples along the monumental stairs of Montesanto.
The MontesantoArte program, curated by Adriana Rispoli, aims to promote more experimental contemporary art on the regional territory. The spaces of the Smart District will become places of artistic and intellectual contamination, of direct comparison with artists and professionals in the cultural sector. Consistent with the design dynamics of the Smart District, the artists are invited to focus research on the relationship between nature and culture using transversal languages between the visual arts (video or performance), architecture, design, gardening and self-construction. The goal is to create tangencies between disciplines, to generate a contamination that, coming into contact with the community of reference, produce good practices of civil life, exportable artistic experiments and replicable in other contexts.
During the residencies there is a program to promote the activities carried out by the artists in the area through public meetings and workshops. Finally, in March 2018, the presentation to the public of the works developed and produced during the six months of residence is scheduled.
