INTERROGATE TERRITORIES. IN THE ACADEMY GUEST ELENA MAZZI

Thursday, December 21 at 17.00, as part of the lesson of Anthropology of Art prof. Francesco Ronzon, the Academy of Fine Arts of Verona hosts in a public conversation the internationally renowned artist Elena Mazzi, mentor of exception of the first edition of the AIR Camp project, residency program for artists students by the Academy of Fine Arts of Verona in collaboration with the Campo Foundation.

Called to lead the first steps in residence of the five selected students, the artist invited Andrea Bonetti, Sofia Borelli, Elena Grigoli, Bruno Lovato and Giacomo Segantin to widen the gaze to the whole territory, to explore Campo in its historical and social dimensions , as well as physical and environmental. The result is five works, intimately connected with the place and experience of the residence, which will be open on site until April 2018.

In dialogue with the curator Marta Ferretti, Elena Mazzi will explore her latest work and her poetics, characterized by an approach to slow and interdisciplinary research, which often moves from anthropology to become contaminated with the sciences, new technologies and geography.

His projects are distinguished by the complexity of the looks involved in questioning a territory and in returning forms of story never predictable, rather hybrid, local, plural, which promote art as a tool to understand the world.
