EN ROUTE TO THE SOUTH is an artistic project that connects the practice of nomadic beekeeping to the phenomenon of human migration. Started by 2015, the work has been presented through different forms, and has been conceived as a incessant work in progress.
EN ROUTE TO THE SOUTH was born in 2015, thanks to the collaboration and the dialogue with “Virtù Miele di Sicilia”, a family-run beekeeping company based in Zafferana Etnea, a small town on the slopes of Etna, where nomadic beekeeping boasts a long-term tradition. The purchase of this honey jar, which is part of a limited edition, will contribute to an additional development of the artistic project.
