On the occasion of Miart 2026, Ex Elettrofonica presents a solo exhibition by Gabriele Picco titled Eternity. A hearse is set within a space lined with ‘Savoiardi biscuits’, mimicking a brick wall on which the artist’s drawings and paintings are displayed. The tone is, as is customary for Picco, ironic, irreverent, and poetic.
The hearse—a 1938 Chevrolet used by the Americans during World War II and later transformed in Naples into a funeral vehicle—carries a cloud through the streets of Milan. Tourists and citizens have seen it wandering among Bosco Verticale, Castello Sforzesco, Piazza Cadorna, Porta Venezia, and the Central Station. For a moment, people were struck by a vision as absurd as it was real, and time seemed to stand still. Eternity is Gabriele Picco’s new work, a challenge to the many false and polished images that flow across our screens, as the present once again confronts fears we believed were far behind us.
